EDIT: Wow, a lot of comments. I guess I'll use this account afterall.

I haven't seen the movie yet nor the South Park episode. Drew this right after the trailer came out in August spoofing the end of it where they kiss. That's all.

EDIT July 2011: Finally saw the movie. I rather enjoyed it. :)

I just borrowed the image for my blog, too [link]

Nothing too big - the ice cream parlor in town had for years the 'smurf' flavour (a blue cream).
Now he has the 'avatar' flavour (still a blue cream).

Your drawing fits the bill. :D

You know, I recall seeing this image all over the place before I'd even seen the movie. It still cracks me up, though. Nicely done! Apparently a lot of people on the interwebs are fond of some smurf action. Personally, those looks both of them have in the pic are downright creepy. It's like a little piece of my childhood is whimpering as I see it... Those eyes... that lust...

I ended up embedding it in a blog post called "Babies Can't Have Steak," when talking about Avatar. I have the link to the main page in my signature if you'd like to take a look.

Funnily enough I still haven't seen the movie. But now that I know that Sigourney Weaver's character smokes, I definitely won't. ;p
Twas a good well written article. And I must commend you for embedding the pictures from DA. You're the first person I've seen do that. Very few even give credit for the pictures they use.

Yeah, I didn't give credit for the longest time, but my guilt finally caught up with me. I figure, if I'm embedding the pics, why not let the artists know? Besides, DA is a horn o' plenty for all kinds of images I can use.
